Thats the only thing you can do to stop bleeding.. applying medicine, or simply use cornstarch drunken It is necessary to cut their nails more often, if not they grow longer and longer, and the quick(vein) also grow longer. To maintain it short, groomer usually will cut deeper and let them bleed (if no choice) so that they can maintain the length next time without hurting them. The bleeding will stop in about 5 to 7 minutes. Any more than that...give your vet a call.

My Sushi, I once clipped till she bleed, she "scream" then I shocked... Shocked dare not continue to cut so I let her down.. but she just run around happily like nothing happen already Razz Maybe it is really not that big deal for them Laughing Then recently I send her to House of Groomers, end up the groomer cut shorter then I did, and told me it is necessary to cut shorter Razz

boyboy did bleed more than 7 minutes...i really shocked...somemore im alone at home... pale no choice i just put him in the cage so he won't walk around...after few hours later, the wound dry... Wink
end up the groomer cut shorter then I did, and told me it is necessary to cut shorter << means cut till bleeding ah? Neutral normally i also cut once per 2 weeks...and will left a little bit more to reach the vein...

they will feel very pain right??? Crying or Very sad

just to share with everyone...ytd i been to ikano pet safari, and i saw this female groomer groom a Schnauzers inside...she is so impatient...keep pushing the Schnauzer when she groom him...thn whn she trying to comb the Schnauzer, the fur is tangled up so of coz he feel pain thn like trying to bite...end up she like very angry act like wan to beat him...after that she use the mouth shutter to cover his mouth and put the leash on him...seriously i never c how groomer groom my baby before...as always whn i bring to pet shop, there is a lot of pets waiting to be groom, so normally i juz left my baby there...

i am just trying to say when i saw this i felt a bit uneasy...mayb tat's just what groomer should do to keep the pet stay still... Neutral

apart from this, i got one question...dog eye discharged = tear stain? or it's different?

Pain for awhile better then pain everytime grooming Smile

I have seen my dogs groom before in House of Groomer, but not the whole session la.. so far didn't see them scold/beat/mistreat the dogs there. I saw one poodle laogai, the groomer a bit frustated, then another groomer come and help tame the poodle a bit, by sayang sayang and don't know talk what to the dog (I was standing behind the glass door)... so generally I think its okay over there.

Tearstain and discharge is different..

lolx...
for me i always sit there and wait for mikey till after he finishes grooming except in house of groomers...

no matter take 3 hours of 5 hours i also will jus sit there and watch them groom until finish..bcoz house of groomers i trust them bcoz they received so many gd reviews on the dogs they groom dy so i left mikey there and also bcoz i had to go to work that day Razz

other than house of groomers i don care where or have what to do oso i jus sit there la bcoz i memang scare they mistreat him...and i also hate them put mikey in the dirty cages that so many other dogs are left in bcoz many groomers also don clean their cages properly...after grooming they put them inside all oso got pee n poo so i oso tak tahan...i don wanna pay my money for grooming then he get dirty n stinky again lol...

hah... after grooming put back into cage?

Luckily so far I only send HOG haha.. after grooming put on extra grooming table :p the only pity thing is, they still put a leash on them and "hang" them... I think they don't want the dog to lay down, so won't mess with nice haircut and blooming they did :p So usually I just collect right after (or as soon as possible) when they called to tell me its done!
