It can be quite fun to see both sit together, down and roll together, but you don't have so many hands to giv treats at once they are quicker then you

Re: Does your furkids know tricks?
Well, my Amber knows about 30 over tricks. You can watch her latest tricks in her blog or on Youtube. The recent one was "sad-restore" & her most famous one is the "smile-serious" trick. She kinda forgot that one already... My other fatty Golden knows quite a few, She also dances but is a beginner. My Dalmatian, Faith only knows a handful of tricks & tricks that my other two Goldens cannot do like jump over my leg & stand-on-two.
Re: Does your furkids know tricks?
Melissa, guess at the current moment, you are the only member with big dogs. Most of us here (that is active at the moment) having toy-mini breeds. You bring your dogs to OB and agility right? I would like to ask if all kinds of dogs are suitable for agility? And is it a must for them to complete OB before joining agility? I believe most of the owners train their own dogs (especially small breed) the basic obedience, though not most can do with heel trick haha..
Re: Does your furkids know tricks?
Oh really? Well, maybe it's time that Doggytales have big dog members. Hehe! Yes all my dogs do Obedience & Agility. We try ALL sorts of dog sports even Conformation Shows. We try everything! I used to be an Agility trainer but now have stopped to pursue my singing & also finish up my driving lessons. LOL!
Yes, it is always encouraged that all dogs should go through basic OB 1st before doing Agilty. The reason why? You will need some control of your dog. You can never start simply running & doing "cin-cai-bon-cai". Usually 1st timers will run on-leash. But after a while,. the dogs must learn how to sit/down/stand stay at the starting line before running. And the dogs must learn to follow your hand signals & also when you call your dog's name or ask him to jump over a hurdle or go through a tunnel, the dog must be able to listen to you & do what you ask it to do. Not necesserily you have to enter for OB classes at your training school. You can also just teach your dog the basic commands at home. Now, when doing Agility, the dog shouldn't be on your left side like doing heeling exercises. Once your dog learns how to go off-leash, he should always be ahead of ya but still following your directions. If the dog do heeling during Agility, that's just all WRONG!
